Getting your bond back in Queensland
In Queensland bonds are held by the Residential Tenancies Authority (RTA). You receive an entry condition report (Form 1a) at the start of the tenancy, and at the end you fill in an exit condition report (Form 14a). The agent compares the two. They can claim for cleaning if the home is less clean than it was at the start, but not for fair wear and tear. If you can't agree, the RTA offers free dispute resolution before the matter goes to QCAT. Keep a copy of your entry report and send it to us when you book.
