End of lease and bond cleaning across metropolitan Melbourne, from inner-city terraces and apartment towers to family homes in the middle suburbs.
Getting your bond back in Victoria
In Victoria your bond is held by the Residential Tenancies Bond Authority (RTBA), not by the agent. At the end of the lease the agent compares the property with the condition report from the start of your tenancy. If they want to claim part of the bond for cleaning, they have to show the property is less clean than it was when you moved in, allowing for fair wear and tear. Disputes that can't be settled go to VCAT. A clean worked against that original condition report is the simplest way to avoid a claim.
